What you keep—

Etsy changes its rates from time to time, and taxes and currency conversion are not counted: always check Etsy's own fee pages before you set a price.

How Etsy fees are calculated

  • A listing fee of $0.20 for each item sold
  • A transaction fee of 6.5% of the price plus the shipping you charge
  • Payment processing in the United States: 3% + $0.25 an order
  • Offsite Ads: 15% (or 12%) only on orders that came from an ad Etsy showed outside Etsy

Etsy fees on a digital download

A $5 printable with no shipping: $0.20 listing + $0.33 transaction + $0.40 payment = about $0.93, so you keep about $4.07. With an Offsite Ad at 15%, Etsy takes $0.75 more.

Questions

How much does Etsy take from a sale?

For a US shop, about 9.5% of the order plus $0.45 ($0.20 listing and $0.25 payment), and 12% to 15% more when the sale came from an Offsite Ad.

Are the fees the same for digital products?

Yes: a digital download pays the same listing, transaction and payment fees. It has no shipping, so the transaction fee is on the price only.

Does the calculator work for other countries?

It uses Etsy's US payment fee. Shops in other countries have their own payment fees, and some pay a regulatory fee: check them in Etsy.

Is the calculator free?

Yes, free, with no sign-up. It works on your phone or computer.
